Concept Punk — or a very successful attempt to put a shit idea into practice.

Idea

The idea for Rattenscheiße was born as utopia. A punk band that diligently follows rules seemed to be perfectly opposed to the principle of punk.

The three rules that underlie the project, initially developed as a thought experiment, are based on best practices of punk bands. But in their implementation they are not too easy to implement ...

Rules

1. Everyone plays the instrument they are least proficient in

2. All songs must be written the evening before the concert

3. A beer is drunk on stage after each of the 9 songs

Consequences

When Rat Shit was on stage for the first time in 2015 at the Cortina Bob in Kreuzberg, and the »band« became aware what following the rules meant to their mental and physical condition, it was decided to end the project immediately after this first concert.

The third and last Rattenscheiße concert took place on  OCT 13. 2018 in Mönchengladbach.

Scheiße, Ratten!

So that the Rattenscheiße songs could live on after the project was finished, Herren von Zzet recorded them in their studio to immortalize and release them as an album.
